Early life

Ferran Torres García was born on February 29, 2000, in Foios, Spain. He was raised by his mother, M. Dolores García, along with his two siblings. He started out his youth career playing for Valencia from 2007 to 2017 and made his senior debut for Valencia Mestalla, the club’s reserve team. Torres remained in Valencia’s academy system until 2017, when he earned promotion to the first team and began his professional career.

Valencia

In November 2017, Valencia CF promoted Torres to the first team. He made his official debut in a Copa del Rey match against Real Zaragoza. A few weeks later, he scored his first senior goal for the club. He also became the very first player born in the 2000s to start a La Liga match.

In the 2019–20 Champions League group stage, Ferran netted a crucial goal against French club Lille. He scored six goals and provided eight assists in all competitions, while also becoming the youngest player in Valencia’s history to score in the UEFA Champions League. Torres completed his Valencia career with 97 appearances and nine goals for the first team before departing for Manchester City in the summer of 2020. Manchester City
